Run Time 23 Minutes
BLACK GLOW MATTERS is a conjuring of poetry, legacy, and soul, Black Glow Matters is a melodic concoction of African rhythms and Southern charm. This spoken word EP is a soundtrack of the Diaspora…. combined with sounds and my tales from the Motherland. Lovingly, the voice of my late father, Attorney Christopher C. Mercer, Jr., interludes on each song. The Black Glow is generational! Produced by EDWVN. Recorded in Ghana. Vocals, EDWVN & Crystal C. Mercer. Additional Production, Mixed, and Mastered by QNote. Video Production by JCole Lansden Films. The significance of the May 17th release date is to honor the landmark Supreme Court decision, Brown vs. The Board of Education Topeka, Kansas, in 1954 that deemed segregation in schools unconstitutional. That is also the very same day when my father received his license to practice law, passing the bar with the highest score in his class. My art and activism will always honor the rich legacy he left behind. A special thanks to my friends and family from all over the world who have supported me, my crew in Ghana, the block that raised me; Southwest Little Rock, and to my parents. I know my late Poppa Bear would be proud. #BlackGlowMatters streaming EVERYWHERE. #Poetry #Music #Ghana #Worldwide #LittleRock #WhenYouGotThatGlow
